Parking Brake Cables
• The parking brake cable adjusting elements are in front of the rear lower transverse links.
Removing
- Remove the center console extension.
- Remove the wheels and tires.
- Detach the rear exhaust.
- Remove the heat shield at the rear of the fuel tank.
- Remove the rear tunnel heat shield (below the driveshaft).
- Remove the rear tunnel heat shield (above the driveshaft).
- Pull out the retaining clip - 1 - and unhook the parking brake cables at the brake caliper.
• Do not damage the parking brake boot when removing and installing.
- Unclip the brake cable - 1 - from the retainer - 3 -.
- Unclip the brake cable - 3 - from the retainer - 2 -.
- Unclip the brake cables - 1 - from the retainers - 2 - and - 4 -.
Before installing new parking brake cables you must remove the parking brake lever and reset the mechanism.

Installing
- Clip on the parking brake cable - 1 - until it engages.
- The clip loop on the retainer must be located between the two positioning rings - 5 -.
• Clip attachment on the retainer - 4 - must always face outside of the vehicle.
- Tighten the nuts - 3 -. Tightening specification: 1.5 Nm
- Engage the cable at exhaust mount.
- Attach the parking brake cables to the underside and the tank and insert them into the lever at the brake caliper.
• Do not damage the parking brake boot when removing and installing.
- Hook the parking brake cable into the brake caliper and insert the retaining washer - 1 -.
- Positioning rings - 1 - must align with the clips on the retainer.
- Tighten bolt - 2 -. Tightening specification: 25 Nm
- Install the heat shields.
- Adjust the parking brake. Refer to => [ Parking Brake Adjusting ] Parking Brake Adjusting.
- Install the center console extension.
