Selector Lever Cable, Bringing into Basic Setting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Socket and Key (T40031)

Procedure

- Remove cover for shift mechanism. Refer to => [ Shift Mechanism Cover ] Shift Mechanism Cover.

- Place selector lever in position "S".

Before performing basic setting, make sure that the clamping screw is tightened. It is accessible through the hole in shift mechanism in position " S" using Socket and Key (T40031).





- Remove the bolts - 1, 3 and 4 - and remove the selector lever cable heat shield - A -, if equipped.





Bolt - 3 - attaches the heat shield, an exhaust system bracket and a mounting bracket to the transmission.

- Remove selector lever cable bracket - arrow -.





Make sure selector lever is in position "P".

- Press the selector shaft lever - 2 - on transmission completely toward rear in direction of - arrow - until parking lock engages.





When parking lock is engaged, it must not be possible to turn both front wheels in one direction at the same time.

- Make sure that selector lever cable - 1 - has been routed free of kinks and tension.

- Tighten the selector lever cable bracket in this position - arrow -.





- Install the selector lever cable heat shield. Refer to => [ Heat Shield Over the Selector Lever Cable ] Selector Lever Cable and Locking Cable Assembly Overview.

- Adjust selector lever cable => [ Selector Lever Cable, Checking and Adjusting ] 01V,01VA Transmission.
