Pairing instructions are not displayed on the screen

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Check online at www.acura.com/handsfreelink or call the HFL call center at 888-528-7876 to make sure the Bluetooth phone is compatible with the HFL system and that there are no known issues.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

2. Check if any system(s) other than Bluetooth audio system is displayed.

Does the other system display normally?

YES -

Go to step 3.

NO -

Replace the navigation display unit (with navigation) Service and Repair, or the audio-HVAC display unit (Without navigation) Audio-HVAC Display Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation).�

3. Press HDD/USB button or AUX button to select Bluetooth audio source.

Does it change to Bluetooth audio source?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Go to Bluetooth audio does not work troubleshooting:

- With navigation Bluetooth Audio Does Not Work (With Navigation).�
- Without navigation Symptom Troubleshooting.�

4. Check if the audio system functions normally.

Is the system normal?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Go to No sound when Bluetooth audio is used troubleshooting:

- With navigation No Sound When Bluetooth Audio Is Used (With Navigation).�
- Without navigation Symptom Troubleshooting.�

5. If you have the client's Bluetooth phone, go to step 6. Otherwise, pair a known-good Bluetooth phone to the client's vehicle.

Can you pair the Bluetooth phone, and does it operate normally?

YES -

The client's Bluetooth phone is defective or not compatible.�

NO -

Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.�

6. Pair the client's Bluetooth phone to a known-good vehicle.

Can you pair the Bluetooth phone, and does it operate normally?

YES -

Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.�

NO -

The client's Bluetooth phone is defective or not compatible.�
