Symptom Troubleshooting: No picture is displayed

No picture is displayed

Diagnostic Test: Self-Diagnosis Mode

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first.

- Check if Display Mode [Day/Night] button has been pressed, and turned off the display (see owner's manual for more information).

- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

- Before troubleshooting, make sure you have the anti-theft code for the navigation system.

- Make sure that the latest navigation software is installed.

- Check any official Honda service web site for more service information about the navigation system.

1. Check the No. 15 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and No. 18 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, and reinstall the fuses if they are OK.

Are the fuses OK?
YES - Go to step 2.

NO - Replace the fuse, and recheck.


2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

3. Do the forced starting of the display. Navigation System Forced Starting of Display (With Navigation)

Is the diagnosis menu of the picture diagnosis displayed?
YES - Go to step 8.

NO - Go to step 4.


4. Shield the display unit from the sun with your hand, and check that the display is back lit (only the back light is ON.)

Can you see the back light?
YES - Substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit (including the HDD), Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation) and retest. If the problem goes away, replace the original audio-navigation unit. If the problem is still present, replace the navigation display unit. Service and Repair

NO - Go to step 5.


5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

6. Connect the HDS to the DLC.

7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Are there any DTCs present?
YES - Troubleshoot the DTC, then retest.

NO - Go to step 9.


8. Check the most recent DTC. How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Navigation)

Are there recent hard codes set?
YES - Troubleshoot any recent DTC(s) and retest. If there are no recent DTCs, substitute a known-good audio-navigation display unit. Service and Repair If the symptom goes away, replace the original audio-navigation display unit. If the symptom still does not go away, replace the audio-navigation unit. Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation)

NO - Go to step 9.


9. Measure the voltage between body ground and audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) terminals No. 14 and No. 24 individually.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 10.

NO - If the +B wire does not have voltage, repair an open in the wire between the under-hood fuse/relay box and the audio-navigation unit. If the ACC wire does not have voltage, repair open in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the audio-navigation unit.






10. Measure the voltage between audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) terminal No. 12 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.2 V?
YES - Go to step 11.

NO - Repair open or high resistance in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and body ground (G502). Audio Wire Harness Connector And Harness Locations






11. Measure the voltage between body ground and navigation display unit 32P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 individually.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 12.

NO - If the +B wire does not have voltage, repair open in the wire between the under-hood fuse/relay box and the navigation display unit 32P connector. If the ACC wire does not have voltage, repair open in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the navigation display unit 32P connector.






12. Measure the voltage between the navigation display unit 32P connector terminal No. 17 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.2 V?
YES - Substitute a known-good navigation display unit, Service and Repair and retest. If the problem goes away, replace the original navigation display unit. If the problem does not go away, replace the audio-navigation unit. Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation)

NO - Repair open or poor connections between the navigation display and body ground (G501). Audio Wire Harness Connector And Harness Locations
