Symptom Troubleshooting: Navigation cannot control XM radio

Navigation cannot control XM radio

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first.

- Check any official Honda service web site for more service information about the navigation system.

1. Connect the HDS to the DLC.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Are there any DTCs present?
YES - Troubleshoot the DTC, then retest.

NO - Go to step 4.


4. Make sure the anti-theft code for the audio system is entered.

5. Go into the Diagnostic mode, and use the System Links diagnosis. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode (With Navigation)

Is the XM icon red?
YES - Do the troubleshooting for the voice guidance cannot be heard. Symptom Troubleshooting

NO - Go to step 6.


6. Substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit (including the HDD). Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation)

Can the navigation system control XM radio functions?
YES - Replace the audio-navigation unit. Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation)

NO - Replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) Acura Link Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation or the XM receiver. XM Receiver Removal/Installation (Without Acura Link)
