DTC U1289: Gauge Control Module Lost Communication with Remote Slot Control Unit

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A. Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF, ACC, ON, and OFF mode.

3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC U1289 indicated?
YES - Go to the remote slot control unit input test, and do all power, ground, and communication input tests. Testing and Inspection If the tests prove OK, replace the remote slot control unit. Testing and Inspection

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at the remote slot control unit 40P connector and the related units.
