DTC Troubleshooting: U1286

DTC U1286: Gauge Control Module Lost Communication with Keyless Access Control Unit

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A. Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF, ACC, ON, and OFF mode.

3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC U1286 indicated?
YES - Go to the keyless access control unit input test, and do all power, ground, and communication input tests. Testing and Inspection If the tests prove OK, replace the keyless access control unit. Testing and Inspection

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at keyless access control unit connector B (32P) and the related units.
