Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2705

DTC 2705: HFL Diag

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first.

- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information. How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Navigation)

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then back to ON (II), or the ON mode.

2. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode (With Navigation)

3. Check the System Links.

Is the HFL icon red?
YES - Go to step 4.

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.


4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

5. Connect the HDS to the DLC. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Are DTCs for the HFL indicated?
YES - Do the HFL DTC troubleshooting.

NO - Go to step 8.


8. Remove the center console panel. Center Console Panel Removal/Installation

9. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector, Service and Repair and audio-navigation unit connector H (28P).

10. Check for continuity between the terminals of the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector according to the table.





Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES - There is a short in the wire(s) between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO - Go to step 11.






11. Connect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector terminals No. 6, No. 7, No. 20, and No. 21 to body ground with jumper wires.






12. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector H (28P) terminals No. 9, No. 10, No. 22, and No. 23 and body ground individually.

Is there continuity?
YES - There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO - Replace the audio-navigation unit. Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation)
