DTC Troubleshooting: B1658

DTC B1658: Rear Bumper LF Antenna Circuit Open or Short

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Select the MODE MENU from the HDS, then enter the SELF CHECK.

3. Do the SELF CHECK.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1658 indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.


5. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

6. Disconnect keyless access control unit connector A (36P).

7. Disconnect the rear bumper LF antenna 2P connector.

8. Check for continuity between body ground and keyless access control unit connector A (36P) terminals No. 1 and No. 19 individually.

Is there continuity?
YES - Repair short to ground in the wire.

NO - Go to step 9.






9. Check for continuity between keyless access control unit connector A (36P) terminals No. 1 and No. 19 and rear bumper LF antenna 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 individually.

Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 10.

NO - Repair open in the wire.






10. Check for continuity between keyless access control unit connector A (36P) terminals No. 1 and No. 19.

Is there continuity?
YES - Repair short between the wires.

NO - Go to step 11.






11. Reconnect the rear bumper LF antenna 2P connector.

12. Measure the resistance between keyless access control unit connector A (36P) terminals No. 1 and No. 19.

Is there 1-5 Ohms?
YES - Replace the keyless access control unit. Testing and Inspection
