Rear Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair
Window lift mechanism rear side door, replacing
As the illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and / or models, some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.
Removing the lift mechanism for the rear side door
The window must be in the half open position.
Remove:
- the panel. See Panel rear side door, replacing Service and Repair
- the run-off profile
- the loudspeaker. See Loudspeaker, rear side door, replacing Loudspeaker, Rear Side Door.
Drill out the 2 rivets for the window. See Removing rivet Removing Rivets.
Close the window.
Secure the window using tape.
Disconnect the connector for the lift mechanism motor.
Remove:
- the 3 rivets. See Removing rivet Removing Rivets
- the 1 nut at the top of the lift mechanism.
Work out the lift mechanism.
Installing the lift mechanism for the rear side door
Note! For tightening torques, see Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame.
Install:
- the lift mechanism
- 1 M6 nut. Tighten
- the 3 rivets for the lift mechanism
- the connector for the lift mechanism motor.
Lower the window.
Install:
- the 2 rivets securing the window to the lift mechanism
- the loudspeakers. See Loudspeaker, rear side door, replacing Loudspeaker, Rear Side Door
- the run-off profile
- the panel. See Panel rear side door, replacing Service and Repair.
Initializing the window position
After replacing the lift mechanism, the window position must be initialized.
Ignition on.
Initialize the window position.
