Contact reel, replacement

Preparations




Disconnect the battery lead. See Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting.

Removing the contact reel





Remove:
- the steering column covers. See Replacing the steering column covers Service and Repair
- the steering wheel according to Steering wheel, replacing Removal and Replacement.
Disconnect the left connector.

Remove:
- four screws
- the contact reel.

Installing the contact reel

Note! For tightening torques, see Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame.

Install:
- the contact reel
- the 4 M5 screws. Tighten
- the connector.
Zero the contact reel. See Contact reel driver airbag module, resetting Contact Reel Driver Airbag Module, Resetting.

Install:
- the steering wheel according to Steering wheel, replacing Removal and Replacement
- the steering column covers. See Replacing the steering column covers Service and Repair.
