Removal and Replacement






Sun roof, replacing

The illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and / or models. Some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.

Preparations




Ignition off.




Remove the key from the ignition switch.

Note! The key must be removed to ensure that the ignition is not switched on by mistake.

Note! After removing the key, wait one minute before starting work.

Removing the sun roof





Remove:
- the headlining. See
- the connector for the sun roof unit
- the front and rear drain hoses.




- the 8 screws, and 8 spacers, for the gutter frame.

Note! Note the position of spacers and screws and the various thicknesses and lengths.

Lift the sun roof down and out.

Installing sun roof

Note! For tightening torques, see Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame.





Hint: Install the screws, the spacers and the nylon washer for the gutter frame before installation.

Install:
- the 2 M6*35 screws (position 1)
- the 2 M6*25 screws (position 2)
- the 2 M6*20 screws (position 3)
- the 2 M6*16 screws (position 4)
- the 2 spacers, 20*6, 5*19.3 mm (positions 1 and 2)
- the 2 spacers, 20*6, 5*9.6 mm (positions 2 and 2)
- the 4 spacers, 20*6, 5*4.4 mm (positions 3 and 4).
Lift the sun roof. Place the sun roof in position.
Tighten.

Install:
- the drainage
- the connector.

Install the headlining.
Check for leakage. See Sun roof, leak test Leak Testing the Sun Roof.
