Replacing Transmission






Transmission











Removal

Note! Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove left-hand engine support insulator Refer to: Engine support insulator left, B5254T7 Engine Support Insulator Left

Remove the starter motor Refer to: Starter motor, B5254T7 Service and Repair

Warning! Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

Caution! Make sure the open end of the hose is secured above the fluid level in the reservoir.





Remove the following items:
- Driveshaft left
- Drive shaft right Refer to: Drive shaft right, B5254T7, AW55-50/51SN, B5254T7, M66 Service and Repair
- Front subframe

Torque: M6, 10 Nm









Note! Note the different lengths of the bolts.

Torque: M10, 50 Nm

1. Torque: M8, 24 Nm

2. Torque: M12, 80 Nm

Use: Thread sealant, 1161056

Torque: Roller lock-up mechanism, 32 Nm

Installation





Caution! Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.









Use: Wheel bearing grease, 1161689

Perform input shaft, cleaning Refer to: Input shaft, cleaning, B5254T7, M66 Input Shaft, Cleaning

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Fill with oil Refer to: Transaxle oil, B5254T7, M66 Transaxle Oil

Perform clutch system venting Refer to: Bleeding the clutch system, B5254T7, M66 Service and Repair
