Description of Frozen Values, BCM

Description of frozen values

Explanation
The values described below were stored in the memory of the brake control module (BCM) when the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was stored.
All parameters do not need to be implemented in the brake control module (BCM). This varies from system to system.

Note! Parameters marked with STC (stability and traction control)/DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) are only displayed on cars equipped with STC (stability and traction control) and DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control). Parameters marked with DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) are only displayed on cars equipped with DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control).

Outside temperature
The value indicates the outside temperature. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Measurement range: -128- +127°C.

Passenger compartment temperature
The value indicates the passenger compartment temperature. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Measurement range: -60-+195°C.

Battery voltage, central electronic module (CEM)
The value indicates the battery voltage at the central electronic module (CEM). The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Measurement range: 0-32 V.

Mileage
The value indicates the mileage. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Measurement range: 0- and upwards.

STC/DSTC switch indication (STC)

Note! Only cars with STC/DSTC.

The value indicates the status of the indicator LED in the STC/DSTC switch. The requested status of the brake control module (BCM) that is sent out on the CAN network.
Activated = STC/DSTC indication activated.
Not activated = STC/DSTC indication not activated.

Direction of travel

Note! Only cars with DSTC.

The value displays the direction of travel of the car.
Forwards or backwards.

Pump motor test
The value indicates if the brake control module (BCM) has tested the pump motor.
Active.
Not active.

Ignition key position
The value indicates the position of the ignition key.

ABS/EBD/TC/SC/AYC control function

Note! The SC/DSTC parameter is only available in cars fitted with STC/TRACS/DSTC.

The values indicate the status of each function. Brake system, abbreviations Brake System, Abbreviations
Switched off = Function blocked.
Permitted = Function accessible.

Engine running
The value indicates the status of the engine. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Yes = Engine running.
No = Engine switched off.

Stop lamp switch
The value indicates the status of the stop lamp switch. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the engine control module (ECM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Active (pressed in) = Stop (brake) lamp switch activated.
Not activated = Stop (brake) lamp switch not activated.

Vehicle reference speed
The value indicates the speed of the car in km/h. The value is calculated from the values from all the wheel sensors.
Measurement range: 0.60-300 km/h.

Power supply
The value indicates the power supply to the brake control module (BCM).
Measurement range: 0-18 V.

Lateral accelerometer, signal

Note! Only cars with DSTC.

The value indicates the lateral accelerometer signal, i.e. the lateral incline of the car. The signal from the lateral accelerometer, which is integrated in the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC), transmits information to the brake control module (BCM) about the lateral acceleration of the car. Turning left produces a body roll to the right, giving a positive value. Turning right produces a body roll to the left, giving a negative value.
Measurement range: -20- +20 m/s2.

Accelerometer, signal

Note! Only cars with DSTC and AWD.

The value indicates the accelerometer signal, i.e. the longitudinal incline of the car. The signal from the accelerometer, which is integrated in the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC), transmits information to the brake control module (BCM) about the longitudinal acceleration of the car. A positive value indicates acceleration, i.e. the front of the car is raised. A negative value indicates deceleration, i.e. the front of the car is lowered.
Measurement range: -20- +20 m/s2.

Yaw angle signal (DSTC)

Note! Only cars with DSTC.

The value indicates the yaw angle speed, i.e. the speed at which the car turns on flat ground. The signal from the yaw rate sensor, which is integrated in the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC), transmits information to the brake control module (BCM) about the rate of yaw (steering direction) of the car in °/s. A positive value indicates steering to the left. A negative value indicates steering to the right.
Measurement range: -80- +80 °/s.

Steering wheel angle sensor, present value

Note! Only cars with DSTC.

The value indicates the position of the steering wheel. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the steering wheel module (SWM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Measurement range: -720- +720 °/s.
Positive values = Left.
Negative values = Right.

Lateral accelerometer, offset value

Note! Only cars with DSTC.

Measurement range: -10- +10 m/s2.

Yaw rate sensor, offset value

Note! Only cars with DSTC.

Measurement range: -25- +25 °/s.

Accelerometer, offset value

Note! Only cars with DSTC and AWD.

Measurement range: -10- +10 m/s2.

Engine speed (RPM)
The engine control module (ECM) transmits the engine speed (RPM) on the Control area network (CAN) from where the brake control module (BCM) retrieves the signal. The value of the engine speed is given in rpm.

Engine torque
The value displays the engine torque. The value is given in Nm.

Brake pressure

Note! Only cars with DSTC.

The value indicates the hydraulic pressure in the brake system.
