Power Seat Control Module: Service and Repair
Control module front seat

Preparatory work
Important information
It is possible to replace only the control buttons if the power seat module (PSM) is not damaged.
Disconnecting the battery lead
Disconnect the battery negative cable.
Remove the key.
Note! The key must be removed to ensure that the ignition is not switched on by mistake.
Wait 1 minute before starting work.
Removal
Removing the power seat module (PSM)
Remove:
- the side panel as described in Side panel front seat Side Panel Front Seat
- the 4 screws
- power seat module (PSM) from the side panel
- the 1 or 2 connectors.
Transferring components
Replacing control buttons for the power seat module (PSM)
Removing control buttons
Remove the control buttons for front-rear and vertical adjustment.
Carefully pry off using a small screwdriver.
Check the power seat module (PSM) for cracks.
Note! If the power seat module (PSM) is cracked, it must be replaced.
Remove:
- the 5 screws
- the rear section. It is located at the bottom edge with 3 guide lugs.
Fold up and remove the rear section of the control module.
Remove the printed circuit board.
Caution! Static electricity can damage the printed circuit board (electric static discharge problems). For this reason, do not touch the printed circuit board with fingers.
Remove any damaged part of the control button.
Grip the protruding part. Ease off and carefully pull it away from the front section.
Note! Note the position of the parts.
Installing control buttons
Install new control buttons.
Note! Apply grease to the sliding surfaces.
Install the printed circuit board.
Caution! Static electricity can damage the printed circuit board (electric static discharge problems). For this reason, do not touch the printed circuit board with fingers.
Install:
- the rear section
- the 5 screws. Tighten.
Installation
Installing the power seat module (PSM)
Install:
- power seat module (PSM) on the side panel
- the 4 screws. Tighten
- the 1 or 2 connectors
- the side panel. See: Side panel front seat Side Panel Front Seat
- the battery negative cable.
