Note! Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
Removal
Remove the inner timing cover. Refer to: Gasket, inner timing cover, B6304T2 Gasket, Inner Timing Cover.
Caution! Take extra care not to damage the mating faces.
Installation
Caution! Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
Caution! Make sure that the threaded holes for the cylinder head screws are free of fluid.
Use: Gasket solution, 1161 440
Blow the oil ducts clean.
Caution! Ensure that no liquid gasket gets into the oil ducts.
Fit new O-rings around the spark plug sockets.

Use: Liquid gasket, 116 1059
Apply fluid gasket to the camshaft cover. The surface should be fully covered with no excess.
Make sure that the choke valves (1) and (2) are in place.
Turn the camshafts into position.
Oil in the camshaft nodes, camshaft bearing surfaces and the top of the valve lifters. Fit the camshaft cover. Screw in all screws in a manner that the cover remains parallel to the cylinder head.
Using the sequence 1-9, tighten the camshaft cover to the cylinder head alternatingly a few turns at a time until there is full contact. Tighten other screws by hand.
Tighten screws 1-27 in the sequence. Torque: M7, 17 Nm
Tighten screws 28-60 in the sequence. Torque: M7, 17 Nm
Fit the inner timing cover. Refer to: Gasket, inner timing cover, B6304T2 Gasket, Inner Timing Cover.
