Removal

Note! Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the following items:
- wheels. Refer to: Wheels Service and Repair
- the retaining screws to the brake caliper holder. Use new screws for installation.

Make sure that the contact surfaces of the brake disc and clamping ring are clean. Fit the screws, but only tighten slightly.
Tighten crosswise to 90 Nm. 981 4031 Torque socket 19 mm 981 4031 Torque Socket 19 mm

Fit the bracket that is part of the measuring equipment. Use the brake caliper's retaining screw.




Fit the dial indicator in the bracket. Position the dial indicator's tip toward the brake disc.
Slowly rotate the brake disc. The maximum lateral runout of the hub should not exceed 0.025 mm.
If lateral runout exceeds 0.025 mm, replace the brake disc. Refer to: Rear brake disc Rear Brake Disc.

Note! Always check the wheel hub's lateral runout before installing a new brake disc. Refer to: Wheel hub rear, checking Wheel Hub Rear, Checking.
