Front Bumper Cover / Fascia: Service and Repair
Cover bumper front
Note! The illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and/or models. Some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.
Removal
Remove:
- the 5 x clips
- the 2 screws (1)
- the 5 screws per wheel housing.
Remove the covers (2) of the washer jets.
Hint: Carefully take hold of the cover and pull until is catch is accessible from underneath. Press up the catch and remove the cover. Be careful of the painted surfaces and the washer jets.
Take hold of the end. Pull the bumper shell out and the straight forward.
Unplug the fog light connectors (if fitted).
Note! Two people are required for this operation.
Transferring components
Transfer:
- the air guide and 3 screws
- the spring nuts, x2
- any fog lights and cover panels as described in Front fog lights Service and Repair
- energy absorber (damper)
- radiator masking. See Radiator Grille Service and Repair
- towing eye cover
- the center air grille.
Replacing components
Remove 2 screws and replace the side attachment brackets.
Installation
Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. [1][2]Body and Frame.
Install:
- the energy absorber of the bumper member
- the fog light connectors (if fitted).
Press the bumper shell into place.
Caution! Make sure that the air guide is correctly positioned at the rear edge against the bumper shell.
Install:
- the 5 screws per wheel housing and tighten
- the 5 clips in the upper edge of the bumper shell
- the 2 screws in the upper edge of the bumper shell and tighten
- the covers (2) of the washer jets.
