Blower Motor: Service and Repair






Blower fan motor / power unit, replacing

Preparations

Remove




- the sill trim panel. See The front sill trim panel
- the soundproofing panel on the passenger side. See Soundproofing panel, replacing Soundproofing Panel, Replacing
- the side panel on the center console. See Center console components Center Console Components
- the glove compartment. See Glove compartment, replacing Service and Repair
- any mounting hooks for child seats.
Detach the drain hoses from the motor and the filter housing. Move to one side.
Detach the floor carpet at the front and fold it back.

Replacing blower fan motor

Removal




Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 5 screws from the blower fan motor.
Detach and remove the blower fan motor.




Disconnect the connector.
Detach the cover from the blower fan motor.
Remove the 2 screws from the top.
Press and pull out the blower fan motor and the fan wheel. Use a screwdriver for example.

Installation
Install in reverse order.

Replacing the power unit

Removal




Remove the blower fan motor and the fan wheel. See Preparations and Replacing blower fan motor
Slacken off the 2 screws in the power unit.

Installation
Install in reverse order.
