Upholstery back rest, replacing

Removal
Removing backrest cushion upholstery
Remove the front seat. See: Front seat, replacing Front Seat, Replacing.
Slacken off the tension in lumbar support.
Carefully detach the cover for the lumbar support adjustment knob. Pull the lumbar support adjustment knob straight out.
Press down the 2 catches on the bottom edge of the protective pad. Press through the upholstery.
Lift the head restraint upwards while the catches are pressed in.
Remove the head restraint.
If the front seat is manually operated, remove the backrest adjustment knob. Pull the knob straight out.
Fold the backrest cushion backwards if it can be folded. If the backrest cushion cannot be folded, position it in the forward angled position.
Remove the upholstery. Start at the bottom edge and continue upwards along the entire backrest cushion. Cut off the 12 x half moon clips as the upholstery is pulled up on the front.
Unhook the Velcro seam on the reverse. Remove the upholstery.
Installation
Installing backrest cushion upholstery
Thread the upholstery over the backrest cushion. Secure the half moon clips as the upholstery is pulled down. Use:115 8962 CRIMP PLIERS 115 8962 Crimp Pliers.
Install:
- the Velcro seam on the reverse of the backrest cushion
- the upholstery at the bottom edge
- the lumbar support adjustment knob and its cover
- the backrest adjustment knob (if applicable).
Install the head restraint. Press the head restraint down until the catches engage.
Note! Lift in the head restraint. Check that the head restraint cannot be moved upwards.
