Casing, bumper rear, replacing

Preparations

Note! Remember to paint the casing before replacement.

Removal

Cargo compartment




Fold forward the rear section of the carpet (1) in the cargo compartment.
Turn the clips (2). Remove the four clips for the left and right side panels.
Fold the panels forward towards the center.
Remove the cover (3).

Remove the screws
Grip the outer edges of the panel (5). Pull the panel inwards towards the center so that the clips release at the sides.
Disconnect the connectors (6) for the side lamps.
Remove the panel by pulling it straight upwards so that the clips release from rear crossmember.

Bumper mounting




Disconnect the connector (2) for the antenna. Lift up the catch on the connector and pull carefully.
Remove the rubber seals (1). Remove the nuts (1).

The rivets in the wheel arch




Raise the car.
Remove the rear wheels.
Drill using a 6 mm diameter drill bit.
Drill out the rivets.

Bumpers




Remove the bumper by pulling it straight backwards.
Place the bumper on an underlay that will not damage the paint.

Replacement

Replacing casings





Note! Do not damage the antenna connection when disassembling and assembling the bumper.

Disconnect the four clips (1) on the inside of the upper edge of the bumper.
Open the ten outer and the four inner lock facings (2) in the upper edge.
Open the lower lock facings (3).
Replace the casing.
Transfer the components.
Assemble the bumper.

Installation

Bumpers





Note! Do not damage the antenna connection.

Align the end pieces (1) in the rails (2).
Press into place.

Cargo compartment




Install the nuts (1). Tighten to 18 Nm.
Install the rubber seals (1) over the nuts.
Connect the connector for the radio antenna on the right-hand side.

Fender liner




Install the fender liner in the bumper cover. Use rivets.
Install the wheels. Tighten to 110 Nm.

Installing the panels in the cargo compartment




Install the panel for the rear crossmember.
Connect the wiring to the side lamps.
Screw the panel into place.
Fold the panels back into place on the left and right-hand sides.
Secure the clips and lock the panels into place.
Fold the cargo compartment carpet back into place.
