Antenna Cable: Service and Repair






Replacing the antenna cable

Removal




- Remove the audio control module. See Radio cassette player, replacing Radio Cassette Player, Replacing
- Disconnect the connector for the antenna
- Remove the secondary lock on the connector.

Installation




- Remove the primary lock (1) on the right-hand antenna cable by bending the lock upwards using the tool. Remove the antenna cable
- Install the new antenna cable in the connector
- Cut off the old antenna cable or secure the cable in position.




- Remove the combined instrument panel. See Driver information module (DIM), replacing Driver Information Module (DIM), Replacing
- Route the antenna cable from the audio control module to the cable duct (1) behind the combined instrument panel
- Reinstall the audio control module loosely. Lightly pull and shake the antenna cable to ensure that it does not cause a noise. In case of noise use foam rubber (P/N 9128331)
- Remove the hood lock control. See Mechanism, hood release, replacing Mechanism, Hood Release, Replacing. Route the antenna cable with the other wiring down to the left-hand front sill trim panel
- Remove the front and rear sill trim panel on the left-hand side. See The front sill trim panel and The rear sill trim panel . Route the antenna cable along the cable ducts in the door sills to the antenna amplifier in the left-hand D-post
- Secure the antenna cable at the existing wiring and cable ducts using tie straps
- Reinstall the audio control module, combined instrument panel, panels, hood lock control and sill trim panels.
