Printed circuit board gear selector assembly/top panel, replacing

Removal

Removing the gear selector knob
Remove the gear selector knob. See: Gear selector knob, replacing, B5254T2, AW55-50/51SN Gear Selector Knob, Replacing.

Removing the center console

S60R (B5254T4 engine)
Remove the center console. See Center console, replacing Center Console, Replacing.

S60 (other engines)
Remove the center console. See Center console, replacing Center Console, Replacing (-2004) or Center console, replacing Center Console, Replacing (2005-).
Remove the horse shoe holder from under the top panel. Pull it backwards.

Removing the top panel from the gear selector assembly




Shift the gear selector to position D.
Pry out the top panel from the gear selector assembly.
Disconnect the wiring from the gear selector assembly stop.





Remove:
- the connector from the gear selector assembly. Separate the connector
- the cable terminals from the solenoid
- the top panel.

Note! The printed circuit board is integrated into the top panel.

Installation

Installing the top panel on the gear selector assembly





Install:
- the connector on the gear selector assembly. Connect the connectors

Note! Shift the gear selector to position D.

- the solenoid connectors
- the cable to the gear selector assembly stop
- the clamp for the cable on the right side
- the top panel above the gear selector.




Fold and press the horseshoe holder into place in the gear selector assembly stop.

Check
Ignition on.
Move gear selector lever backwards.
Check that the colored indicator on the top panel lights when the gear selector lever is moved to the relevant gear position.

Installing the center console

S60R (B5254T4 engine)
Install the center console. See Center console, replacing Center Console, Replacing.

S60 (other engines)
Install the center console. See Center console, replacing Center Console, Replacing (-2004) or Center console, replacing Center Console, Replacing (2005-).
Install the horseshoe holder underneath the top panel.

Installing the gear selector knob
Install the gear selector knob. See Gear selector knob, replacing, B5254T2, AW55-50/51SN Gear Selector Knob, Replacing.
