Power door mirror, replacing
Removing the power door mirror
Remove:
- the cover and door panel as described in Panel front door Panel Front Door
- the connector
- the 4 screws
- the door mirror from the body
Installing the power door mirror
Note! For tightening torques, see
Install:
- the door mirror
- the 4 M8 screws and tighten
- the connector
- the door panel and cover as described in Panel front door Panel Front Door.
Mirror glass, replacing
Removing mirror glass
Move the mirror glass rearward/inward as illustrated.
Take hold of the mirror glass and pull it outward/rearward until it releases from the outer retainer.
Carefully press the glass in toward the mirror housing without allowing it to refasten.
Release the glass from the inner retainer.
Unplug the connector pins from the glass.
Note! Note how the cables are routed.
Installing the mirror glass
Plug in the 2 connector pins to the mirror glass.
Extend the mirror retainer on the electric motor.
Engage the mirror glass in the inner retainer.
Note! Make sure that the guides/plastic springs, 2 pcs., end up in correct position.
Engage the mirror glass in the outer retainer.
Hint: Use a knife as counterhold.
Mirror casing, replacing
Removing the mirror casing
Remove the direction indicator bulb.
Press out the casing.
Installing the mirror casing
Guide the casing toward the mirror housing and engage.
Refit the direction indicator bulb.
Electric motor, replacing
Removing the electric motor
Prize the electric motor from the 3 clips.
Note! Bend in the top edge.
Hint: Use a screwdriver and counterhold straight above the upper clip.
Unplug the connector(s).
Note! Note the location of the connector(s).
Installing the electric motor
Install:
- the connector(s).
- the electric motor.
Note! Make sure that the electric motor snaps securely into place.
