Brake disc front, replacing
Removal
Preparation
Remove the brake pads. See Brake pads front, replacing Brake Pads Front, Replacing.
Removing the brake caliper holders and brake disc
Remove:
- both the mounting screws (1)
- the caliper holder
- the screw (2) and the brake disc.
Cleaning and checking
Note! Cleaning is important to prevent lateral run out at the brake disc.
Clean the hub flange before installing the new brake disc.
Check the hub. If it is damaged, measure the lateral run out. See Front wheel hub, measuring lateral runout Front Wheel Hub, Measuring Lateral Runout.
Installation
Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications Tightening Torque.
Installing the brake disc
Note! Be careful when handling the new brake disc. Careless handling can cause damage to the brake disc (out-of-true).
Install:
- the brake disc. Tighten the screw (2), M6
- the caliper holder. Tighten the two screws (1). See Tightening torque Tightening Torque.
Finishing
Install the brake pads. See Brake pads front, replacing Brake Pads Front, Replacing.
Install the wheel. See Installing wheels Service and Repair.
