Wiper mechanism, windshield, replacing

Removal

Preparations
- Check that the wiper motor is in the parked position. Switch on the ignition. Switch the wipers on and off
- Switch off the ignition.

Windshield wiper mechanism




- Remove the windshield wiper arms. See Wiper arm / blade, windshield, replacing Wiper Arm / Blade, Windshield, Replacing
- Remove the plenum chamber and gutter. See Cowl and gutter, replacing Cowl and Gutter, Replacing
- Disconnect the 2 connectors from the wiper motor
- Remove the screws from the mechanism. Remove the lug from the rubber bushing.

Installation

Windshield wiper mechanism
- Lubricate the lug using a soap solution
- Install the mechanism in the correct position
- Tighten the screws
- Connect the connectors
- Tighten the screws. Tighten to 20 Nm. Start with the outer screw (closest to the front fender)
- Install the panel over the wiper mechanism
- Reset the wiper motor and mechanism by switching on the ignition and then turn the wiper switch on and off
