Brake hose front, replacing

Removal

Preparatory work
Collect the brake fluid. See Brake caliper, replacing Brake Caliper, Replacing.

Removing the brake hose





Remove:
- the brake hose from the brake pipe (1)
- the brake hose from the brake caliper (2).

Installation

Note! For further information about tightening torques, see Tightening torque Tightening Torque.

Installing the brake hose





Install:
- the brake hose to the caliper (2). Tighten the brake hose. See Tightening torque Tightening Torque
- brake pipe in the hose (1). Tighten the pipe. See Tightening torque Tightening Torque.

Check the brake hose
Ensure that the brake hose is not twisted. If necessary alter the hose at the other end (brake pipe end).

Note! If the brake hose is twisted it may rub against the tire, rim or wheel arch. This could cause the circuit to fail.

Finishing
Top up with brake fluid and bleed the braking system. See Brake system, bleeding (using bleeding unit) Brake System, Bleeding (Using Bleeding Unit).
Install the wheel. See Installing wheels Service and Repair.
