Seat belt retractor, rear

Preparatory work
Disconnecting the battery lead
Ignition off.
Disconnect the battery negative cable. See: Battery Disconnecting
Warning! For information about the handling and storage of pyrotechnical SRS units, see: Handling non-deployed pyrotechnical part Handling Non-Deployed Pyrotechnical Part
Warning! Never measure with an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument on a disconnected, non-deployed pyrotechnical SRS unit. There is a risk of the seat belt tensioner deploying.
Warning! A pyrotechnical SRS unit must never be dismantled, repaired, or moved to another vehicle.
Removal
Removing rear outer seatbelt
Raise the seat cushion.
Remove:
- the parcel shelf. See: Parcel shelf Service and Repair
- connector for the belt roller (retractor)
- the nut, 1 pc., for the belt roller (retractor)
- the screw, 1 pc., for the end fitting.
Replace the belt roller (retractor) with pre-tensioner.
Removing rear middle seatbelt
Remove:
- upholstery. Seat Cushion, Rear Seat
- plastic casing. It is installed with hooks, 4 pcs.
- the nut, 1 pc., at the top
- the screw, 1 pc., at the bottom.
Extract the seatbelt and remove it.
Installation
Installing rear middle seatbelt
Insert the seatbelt.
Install:
- the nut, M10 x1
- the M10 screw.
Tighten the nut and screw according to: Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame.
Hook on the plastic casing.
Install the upholstery. Seat Cushion, Rear Seat
Installing rear outer seatbelt
Install:
- belt roller (retractor)
- the nut, 1 pc. for the belt roller (retractor). Tighten, see: Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame
- end fitting
- the screw, 1 pc., for the end fitting. Tighten, see: Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame
- connector for the belt roller (retractor)
- the parcel shelf. See: Parcel shelf Service and Repair.
Lower the seat cushion.
Finishing
Checking the function
Check the function of the belt as described in Seat belt function, check Testing and Inspection.
Carry out an inspection as described in Supplementary restraint system (SRS), inspection Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
