Headlining with sun roof

Preparatory work

Adjusting seats and steering wheel




Fold the backrest cushion to the semi-reclined position.
Lower the steering wheel to its lowest position.
Ignition off.

Removal

Removing the headlining

Remove:
- the windshield. See: Windshield Windshield
- the sun visors. See: Sun visor Sun Visor
- the front courtesy lighting. See: Lighting, internal front Lighting, Internal Front
- the A-post panel. See: A-pillar trim panel A-Pillar Trim Panel
- the C-post upper panel. See: C-pillar trim panel C-Pillar Trim Panel




- the grab handles.




Remove the molding around the sun roof, if applicable.

Note! Note the position of the join on the molding (1).

Remove:
- the courtesy lighting for the rear seat (2). See: Rear interior light Rear Interior Light
- the cover for the mass movement sensor (MMS) (3)
- the 3 clips (4) in the rear edge of the headlining.

Note! Turn the clips � turns. Then pull the clips straight down.

Lower the headlining over the seats.

Caution! Do not crease the headlining.

Release the cable harness from the headlining.

Note! Note the position of the cable harness.

Move the cable harness to one side.
Move the headlining out through the windshield opening.

Transferring components

Transferring hot-bonded components





Transfer:
- the high-level stop lamp (1). It is hot-bonded outside the vehicle
- the surround (2) for the cover for the mass movement sensor (MMS). It is hot-bonded outside the vehicle
- the cable harness. It is taped in position inside the vehicle. Use tape P/N 951 1099.

Installation

Installing the headlining
Install the sun roof molding (if applicable) on the sun roof frame.

Note! Use a new molding.

Insert the headlining through the windshield opening.
Tape the cable harness to the headlining according to notes made above.

Install:
- the 3 clips in the rear edge of the headlining
- the cover for the mass movement sensor (MMS)
- the molding around the sun roof, if applicable
- the grab handles
- the C-post upper panel. See: C-pillar trim panel C-Pillar Trim Panel
- the A-post panel. See: A-pillar trim panel A-Pillar Trim Panel
- the rear courtesy lighting. See: Rear interior light Rear Interior Light
- the front courtesy lighting. See: Lighting, internal front Lighting, Internal Front
- the sun visors. See: Sun visor Sun Visor.
Secure the headlining to the molding around the sun roof using the pull-cord.
Install the windshield. See Windshield Windshield.
