Front Bumper Cover / Fascia: Service and Repair
Cover bumper front

Removal
Removing the front bumper cover
Remove the 3 screws securing the air baffle in the bottom edge of the bumper cover.
Remove:
- the 5 clips
- the 2 screws (1).
Remove the 5 screws on each side.
Remove the 2 covers for the washer jets.
Hint: Carefully grip the cover. Pull out the cover until its catch becomes accessible from underneath. Press up the catch and remove the cover. Do not damage the painted surfaces or the washer jets.
Disconnect both ends of the bumper cover. Grip the bumper cover inside the fender liner. Carefully pull out the bumper cover until the 2 catches on the inside release.
Pull the bumper cover forwards until the remaining 2 catches located under the lamps release. Lift out the bumper cover.
Disconnect the connectors for fog lamps, if applicable.
Transferring components
Transferring components
Transfer:
- the fog lamp and the panel. See: Front fog lights Front Fog Lights
- the energy absorber (shock absorber)
- the radiator masking
- the cover for the towing eye
- the center air vent.
Replacing components
Replacing side mounting brackets
Slacken off the 2 screws.
Replacing front mounting brackets
Release the clips from underneath.
Replacing the front spoiler
Remove:
- the 19 catches
- the 2 clips (1) at the end on the inside of the bumper cover. The clips hold the lower section in place.
Remove the spoiler from the bumper cover.
Clean the surfaces of the bumper cover where the new spoiler section is to be secured.
Press the new spoiler section into place on the bumper cover.
Check that all the catches engage.
Installation
Installing the front bumper cover
Install:
- the energy absorber (shock absorber) in the bumper member
- the connectors for fog lamps, if applicable.
Press the bumper cover into place.
Install:
- the screws, 5 per wheel arch. Tighten
- the 5 clips at the top edge of the bumper cover
- the 2 screws at the top edge of the bumper cover. Tighten
- the covers for the headlamp washer jets
- the 3 screws securing the air baffle to the bottom edge of the bumper cover. Tighten.
