Preparations




- Remove the cover (1).




- Insert a hand through the upper compartment (1). Push up the bottom rear edge of the lower compartment to release the two catches (2)
- Slide out the compartment (3).




- Remove the two screws (1) holding the dashboard environment panel (2). These two screws are on the base of the radio tray.




- Pry off the panel in front of the gear selector lever. Use a plastic weatherstrip tool as illustrated. Remove the panel in front of the gear selector lever.




- Move the gear selector lever to its rearmost position
- Remove the two screws from the dashboard environment panel.




- Angle the dashboard environment panel outwards so that it is possible to insert a couple of fingers between the centre console and the side of the dashboard environment panel
- Pull the dashboard environment panel downwards while maintaining the same angle. Remove the dashboard environment panel. Some force is required because the panel is tightly installed
- Disconnect the connectors on the reverse of the dashboard environment panel. Put the dashboard environment panel to one side.




- Remove the screws (1) for the radio tray (2)
- Remove the radio tray.

Installation




- Install the radio in the bracket (1). Use the screws (2)
- Install the storage compartment (3) on the left-hand side of the radio.




- Bring the radio up to the radio tray
- Connect the connectors for the power supply, the loudspeaker, the antenna and any other units to the radio
- Insert the radio in its compartment
- Slide the radio up so that the groove on the upper side of the bracket goes round the upper edge of the compartment for the radio. At the same time, press the lower mounting of the bracket against the lower edge of the compartment for the radio.




- Remove the two screws (1) holding the bracket at the dashboard environment panel
- Bend up the bracket. Remove the bracket. (It will not be used again)
- Connect the connectors. Reinstall the dashboard environment panel
- Install the screws
- Install the panel in front of the gear selector lever.

Applies to cars which have not previously had a radio installed




- Remove the cover (1) for the fuse holder on the left-hand side of dashboard
- Install a 5 A fuse in socket number 15. Install a 20 A fuse in socket number 16
- Reinstall the cover on the fuse holder.
