Removal
Remove the drive shaft from the transmission
Use jimmy tool 999 5736 Wrenches 999 5736 Wrenches.
Position the two jimmy tools opposite each other.
Detach the drive shaft.
Note! Pull the constant velocity joint, not the drive shaft joints, when removing the drive shaft. There is no axial pinion.
Note! Take care not to damage the drive shaft when removing it from the transmission.
Install plug 999 5730 Drift 999 5730 Drift on the transmission.
Caution! Later models have a rubber seal on the constant velocity joint. Do not damage the seal. It will be needed for installation.
Installation
Install the drive shaft in the transmission
Note! Do not damage the seal.
Ensure that the drive shaft snap ring engages correctly in the groove on the transmission [1][2]differential gear. Check by pulling the drive shaft constant velocity joint .
Align the drive shaft in the hub and the spring strut in the wheel spindle

Adjust the wheel spindle to the dimension measured prior to removal
