Backrest upholstery, replacement

Special tools: 115 8962

Preparations

CAUTION! Install the transport safety device for the SIPS Airbag.


Removing
- Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio is installed.
- Remove battery negative lead.
- Remove seat from car.
- Remove lumbar adjustment knob. Unscrew in a counter-clockwise direction until stop. Then continue unscrewing counter-clockwise while pulling firmly Outwards.





- Remove clamping hooks (use cutting flippers) on the outside upholstery.
- Stretch the upholstery sides downward so that it is released from the clamping hocks. Do not bend up the clips.
- Start working off the upholstery from the seat.
- Then remove all the clamping hooks between the upholstery and the seat padding.

Installing
Install in reverse order.
- Start attaching clamping hooks at the middle of the backrest between the upholstery and the padding.

Use special pliers P/N 115 8982 for fastening the clamping hooks.





SIPS airbag, removing the safety device
Remove the transport safety device from the sensor module and return it to its storage place on the inside of the control panel.
