DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT
Procedure
1. Remove auxiliaries belt:
- Use a jointed socket wrench on the tensioner to slacken belt.
Early versions is 3/8 inch
The latest version is 3/4 inch.
- Remove belt.
2. Install auxiliaries belt
- Place belt around crankshaft.
- Place belt around A/C-compressor, idler pulley, generator, and servo pump.
- Tension tensioner and put on belt.
NOTE: The dotted line shows the route of the belt on cars without A/C.
NOTE:
- A new auxiliary equipment belt has been introduced into production for the 850 with A/C from engine serial number 564663.
- New belt P/N 9434341-5 can be used on early engines if the new routing is followed. No other components need to be changed.
