Windshield and Headlamp Washer Fluid Reservoir






Windshield and Headlamp Washer Fluid Reservoir

In order to prevent interchanging washer fluid line connections at Windshield and Rear Window Washer Pump (V59) , connections at pump and hose lines are color-coded. Hose connector pieces must be connected to the corresponding colored pump connections during installation.

The filler tube must removed first before removing the windshield and headlamp washer fluid reservoir. Refer to => [ Windshield and Headlamp Washer Fluid Reservoir Filler Neck ] Windshield and Headlamp Washer Fluid Reservoir Filler Neck.

Removal

- Remove the front bolt - arrow - from the reservoir.






- Unclip the headlamp washer system hose - 1 - from the reservoir and remove the rear bolt - arrow -.






- Lower the reservoir onto the front wheel. Be careful of the lines still connected.

- Disconnect the connectors - 1 -, - 2 - and - 3 -.






- Remove the hose connections - 4 - and - 5 - and catch any washer fluid running out with a suitable container.

It may be necessary to remove the front wheel in order to remove the windshield and headlamp washer fluid reservoir, depending on the size of the tire installed.

- Remove windshield and headlamp washer system reservoir downward from wheel housing.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Both elbow connections - 5 - for the windshield and rear window washer pump are color coded and must be matched with the same connections when being installed.






- Install the guide pin - 1 - on the reservoir into the opening - 2 - in the body.






- Tighten the bolts to the specification given in the overview. Refer to => [ Windshield Washer System Overview ] Windshield Washer System Overview.

- Bleed headlamp washer system after completing assembly work. Refer to => [ Headlamp Washer System, Bleeding ] Procedures.
