Lower Control Arm Bonded Rubber Bushing, Spring Shock Absorber Connection
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Engine/Gearbox Jack (V.A.G 1383 A)
• Assembly Tool (T10230)
• Hydraulic Press (VAS 6178) with pressure head (T10205/13)
• Socket Wrench 21 mm (T10188)
• Pneumatic/Hydraulic Foot Pump (VAS 6179)
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332)
Perform the Following Work
- Remove lower control arm. Refer to => [ Lower Control Arm ] Lower Control Arm.
Pressing Off
- Install the tools on the lower control arm as shown in the figure.
1. Threaded spindle (T10230/1)
2. Nut (T10230/2)
3. Thrust piece (T10230/13)
4. Tube (T10230/5)
5. Thrust plate (T10230/7)
6. (VAS 6178) with (T10205/13)
- Press out the bonded rubber bushing.
Pressing In
- Install the tools on the lower control arm as shown in the figure.
1. Threaded spindle (T10230/1)
2. Nut (T10230/2)
3. Thrust piece (T10230/13)
4. Bonded rubber mount
5. Tube (T10230/5)
6. Thrust plate (T10230/7)
7. (VAS 6178) with (T10205/13)
- Press in bonded rubber bushing flush.
- To observe the pressing-in operation, utilize the relief notches in the tube (T10230/5).
- Install lower control arm. Refer to => [ Lower Control Arm ] Lower Control Arm.
- Install the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts. Refer to => [ Wheel Bolt Torque Specification ] [1][2]Specifications.
- Perform vehicle alignment. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment ] Wheel Alignment.
