Reversible Belt Tensioners, Replacing Control Module using Guided Fault Finding
In the case of vehicles with "PR no. 4QE", the front seat belts are each equipped with a reversible belt tensioner.
If a front seat belt with a reversible belt tensioner is replaced, operate the control module integrated in the automatic belt retractor via "Guided Fault Finding".
Required Special Tools and Equipment
• Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051)
• Diagnostic cable (VAS 5051/1) or (VAS 5051/3)
Right Front Seat Belt
Select "Guided Fault Finding" on the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051).
- Select "function/component selection".
- Select "Body".
- Select "Body repairs".
- Select "01 - On board diagnostic-capable systems".
- Select "90 - Right front belt tensioner".
- Select "90 - Right front reversible belt tensioner control module, functions".
- Select "90 - Replace control module".
Left Front Seat Belt
Select "Guided Fault Finding" on the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051).
- Select "function/component selection".
- Select "Body".
- Select "Body repairs".
- Select "01 - On board diagnostic-capable systems".
- Select "8F - Left front belt tensioner".
- Select "8F - Left front reversible belt tensioner control module, functions".
- Select "8F - Replace control module".
