Fuel Supply Line: Service and Repair
High Pressure Lines, Installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)
• Ratchet, Reversible (V.A.G 1331/1)
• Tool Insert AF 19 (V.A.G 1331/5)
• Socket (T40055)
• Socket 14 mm (3150)
Procedure
• When reusing the high pressure line again, pay attention to the cylinder mark.
• The high pressure lines can be reused only after the following checks:
• Check the sealing cone on each high pressure line for deformation and cracks.
• The bores for the lines must not be deformed, narrowed or damaged.
• Do not reuse corroded lines again.
- Remove any dirt from the sealing cone on the fuel rail.
- Clean the fuel line and line connection with detergent and dry it using compressed air.
- Coat the threads on the union nut with fuel.
- Tighten the high pressure line union nuts hand tight, make sure they are seated without tension.
• Tightening specification: 28 Nm
- To tighten the high pressure lines, use the following tools depending on the width across the flats:
Tightening the high pressure line to the fuel rail (high pressure reservoir) using a 14 mm wrench.
Tightening the high pressure line to the fuel rail (high pressure reservoir) using a 17 mm wrench.
Tightening the high pressure line to the fuel rail (high pressure reservoir) using a 19 mm wrench.
- Check the fuel system, for leaks. Refer to => [ Fuel System, Checking for Leaks ] Fuel System, Checking for Leaks.
