AdBlue(R) Delivery Line
• The Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) reducing agent AUS 32 is simply called "AdBlue(R)" in the following information.
• AdBlue(R) can irritate skin, eyes and the respiratory system.
• If the fluid comes into contact with skin, rinse the affected area immediately with plenty of water.
• Consult a physician if necessary.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)
• Engine-/Gearbox Jack (V.A.G 1383 A)
Removing
- Remove the AdBlue(R) tank. Refer to => [ AdBlue(R) Tank ] AdBlue(R) Tank.
- Remove the left underbody trim panel.
- Loosen the heat shield from the particulate filter.
- Open the upper section of the delivery line clips in the - direction of the arrow - and remove them.
- Unclip the delivery line over the rear subframe and at the particulate filter heat shield from the retainers.
Protect the connectors, for example with a plastic bag or cable ties, before they become coated with AdBlue(R). The connectors could be damaged because the AdBlue(R) has a tendency to seep and it crystallizes.
- First press the securing clip off the wire connection on the reducing agent (AdBlue(R)) injector as shown in the - direction of arrow 1 - and then remove the delivery line in the - direction of arrow 2 - without using tools and without pulling sharply.
- Remove the delivery line - arrow - from the reducing agent (AdBlue(R)) injector.
Seal the openings in the lines immediately with plugs to prevent contaminants from entering. Even tiny particles can cause serious damage to the system.
The delivery line is preformed and equipped with a heating element that covers the entire length of it. Do not bend, twist or stretch the line. Otherwise the heating element and the line will be damaged.
- Carefully guide the delivery line out over the particulate filter heat shield.
- Carefully guide the delivery line connection out over the rear subframe in the direction of travel.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:
The delivery line is preformed and equipped with a heating element that covers the entire length of it. Do not bend, twist or stretch the line. Otherwise the heating element and the line will be damaged.
- Carefully guide the delivery line in over the rear subframe and then over the particulate filter heat shield.
- Remove the plugs and connect the delivery line to the reducing agent (AdBlue(R)) injector.
- Press the delivery line into the clips, working from the front to the rear.
- Close the clips.
- Install the AdBlue(R) tank. Refer to => [ AdBlue(R) Tank ] AdBlue(R) Tank.
