Right Coolant Pipe

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Engine Support Bridge (10-222 A)

• Spanner Wrench (3212)

Removing

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Coolant, Draining ] Coolant, Draining.

- Remove the generator.

- Remove the EGR cooler pump. Refer to => [ EGR Cooler Pump V400 ] EGR Cooler Pump V400.






- Remove the bolt - 1 - and remove the EGR coolant thermostat from the coolant thermostat.

• Ignore - 2 and 3 -.








- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the starter.

- Remove the nut - 1 - and then remove the battery positive (B+) wire form the stud on the starter.

- Support the engine in its installed position. Refer to => [ Engine, Supporting in its Installed Position ] Engine, Supporting in its Installed Position.

- Tension the engine slightly using the engine support bridge spindles.

- Remove the nut - 1 - and ground connection from the right longitudinal member.






- Remove the bolts and nuts - 1 through 5 - and remove the right engine mount bracket upward.






- Remove the bolt - 1 -.






- Remove the coolant hose - arrow - from the right coolant pipe by lifting the retaining clamp.

- Using the spanner wrench (3212) as a counter hold tool, remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the coolant pump pulley.






- Remove the bolt - 1 - and nut - 2 -.






- Remove the right coolant pipe forward from the cylinder block.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Coolant Pipes Overview ] Coolant Pipes Overview.

• Replace the O-rings.

• The hose connections as well as the charge air pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.

• Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type.

- Install the coolant pump pulley. Refer to => [ Thermostat and Coolant Pump Overview ] Thermostat and Coolant Pump Overview.

- Install the engine mount bracket. Refer to => [ Engine Carrier, Engine Mount and Bracket Overview ] Engine Carrier, Engine Mount and Bracket Overview.

- Tighten the B+ wire to the starter.

- Install the EGR coolant thermostat. Refer to => [ Thermostat and Coolant Pump Overview ] Thermostat and Coolant Pump Overview.

- Install the EGR cooler pump. Refer to => [ EGR Cooler Pump V400 ] EGR Cooler Pump V400.

- Install the generator.

- Fill the coolant. Refer to => [ Coolant, Filling ] Coolant, Filling.
