Exhaust System, Aligning
• Align the exhaust system when cold.
• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Muffler and Mounts Overview ] Service and Repair.
- Loosen the nuts on the front clamping sleeves.
- If present, loosed the nuts on the rear clamping sleeves.
- Push the exhaust system forward - arrow - until the following tensions are adjusted on the individual retaining loops:
• Right front retaining loop: Dimension - a - = 2 mm.
• Left front retaining loop: Dimension - a - = 4 mm.
• Left and right rear retaining loops: Dimension - a - = 10 mm.
- Hold the exhaust system in this position and tighten the clamping sleeve nuts evenly.
• A 2nd technician is needed to align the exhaust system with clamping sleeves between the center and rear mufflers.
• If all adjustment dimensions are not achieved, remove the affected suspended mount from body and shift accordingly.
- Align the tail pipes. Refer to => [ Attach the tail pipe to the rear muffler and align it. ] Exhaust Tailpipe, Replacing.
