Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clamps up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)

Removing

- Remove the engine cover. Refer to => [ Engine Cover ] Engine Cover.

- Loosen the clamps - arrows - and remove the charge air hose.






Place a cloth under separating point to catch leaking hydraulic fluid.






- Clamp off the power steering pump hydraulic hose using a hose clamp up to 25 mm dia. (3094).

- Remove the hydraulic hose - 1 - from the power steering pump.

- Remove the banjo bolt - 2 - and lay the pressure line aside.

- Remove the bolts/nuts - 1 through 8 - and the exhaust manifold.






Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Replace seals, gaskets, O-rings and self-locking nuts.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Tighten the bolts/nuts between the intermediate pipe and exhaust manifold as follows:

- Tighten the bolts/nuts to 10 Nm using a torque wrench.

- Tighten the bolts/nuts to 30 Nm using a ratchet.

- Tighten the bolts/nuts an additional 90° (1/4) turn.

- Align the exhaust system so it is free of tension.

- Check the power steering fluid level.

Tightening Specifications






1 Replace the bolts/nuts.

2 Coat with hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog.
