- Position the seat as far forward as possible using the forward/back adjustment.
If the battery interrupt igniter (N253) has fired, it will not be possible to adjust a power driver seat using the driver seat adjustment control head (E470). In this situation, the lengthwise adjustment for the seat frame can be performed as follows: => [ Adjusting Driver Seat Lengthwise with Battery Interrupt Igniter N253 that has Fired ] Adjustments.

Electrostatic discharges can lead to unintended deployment of the airbag. Therefore, the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before disconnecting the ignition wire and ground wire. This is done, for example, by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.
- Depending on the vehicle equipment, disconnect the seat wiring harnesses from the connection point.
- Connect the airbag adapter (VAS 6281) to the wiring harness of the thorax airbag.
- If the airbag adapter (VAS 6281) does not fit, the airbag adapter (VAS 6282) must be used!
The airbag adapter (VAS 6281) or airbag adapter (VAS 6282) must stay connected to the seat until the seat is reinstalled.
If the seat is lifted out of the vehicle or transported, it must not be lifted by the attachments. This includes the seat belt, seat forward/back adjustment lever, seat height adjustment lever and seat trims. This is necessary to prevent damage.
