Lower Control Arm Rear Bonded Rubber Bushing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Sleeve (2039)
• Installation device (3372)
• Thrust Plate (VW 401)
• Punch (VW 407)
• Punch (VW 412)
• Assembly tool (T10230)
• Thrust Piece (T10453)
Perform The Following:
- Remove the control arm. Refer to => [ Lower Control Arm ] Lower Control Arm.
- Remove the control arm (left side of the vehicle with DSG or automatic transmission). Refer to => [ Control Arm, Left Side of Vehicle with DSG or Automatic Transmission ] Control Arm, Left Side of Vehicle with DSG or Automatic Transmission
Pressing Out The Bonded Rubber Mount
- Press out bonded rubber bushings as depicted in the illustration.
1. Punch (VW 407)
2. Thrust Piece (T10230/8)
3. Control arm - the opening in the control arm must face upward.
4. Sleeve (2039)
5. Thrust Plate (VW 402)
Installation Position For Rear Bushing In Control Arm
One of the stamped arrows points between the markings - arrows A - in the control arm.
The cam - arrow B - must always point to the outside of the vehicle.
Installing The Bonded Rubber Bushing
- Install the bonded rubber bushing as illustrated.
1. Punch (VW 412)
2. Thrust piece (T10453) - the - B - on the thrust piece must face the markings - arrows - on the control arm.
3. Bonded Rubber Bushing
4. Control arm - the opening in the control arm must face down.
5. Installation device (3372)
6. Thrust Plate (VW 402)
• Install the bonded rubber bushing far enough until the thrust piece (T10453) contacts the control arm.
- Install the control arm, refer to => [ Lower Control Arm ] Lower Control Arm.
- Install the control arm (left side of the vehicle with DSG or automatic transmission). Refer to => [ Control Arm, Left Side of Vehicle with DSG or Automatic Transmission ] Control Arm, Left Side of Vehicle with DSG or Automatic Transmission
