Auxiliary Cabin Heater: Service and Repair






Auxiliary Heater Heating Element Z35

Only installed on vehicles with Diesel engine without auxiliary heater.

Checking: with Vehicle Diagnostic Tester, under Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning; OBD-Capable Systems; Auxiliary Heating; Electrical Components.

Removing

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the driver side footwell trim panel. Refer to Storage Compartments and Covers under.

- Remove the driver footwell vent. Refer to => [ Left Footwell Vent ] Left Footwell Vent.

- Remove heater core cover- 1 - in order to remove the bolts - arrows -.






There is a risk of injury. Clamp off the battery! Always follow the warnings and safety precautions.!

- Remove the connector nut (9 ± 1 Nm) - 2 -.

- Disconnect the connector for auxiliary heater heating element - 1 -.






Contact with a hot exhaust system can cause severe burns.

Auxiliary heater heating element may be hot.

Before removing auxiliary heater heating element let it cool off.

- Loosen the instrument panel in the lower area of the driver seat and pull a slightly in the direction of the driver compartment.

- Remove the auxiliary heater heating element - 1 - from the heater and A/C unit.

Installing

- Install the auxiliary heater heating element in the reverse order of removal.
