Engine Oil Cooler






Engine Oil Cooler

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pry Lever - Rmv Outside Mirror (80 - 200)

Use Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

Drip tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)

Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6362)

Removing

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Remove the charge air cooler. Refer to => [ Charge Air Cooler ] Charge Air Cooler.

- Remove the dipstick a little and remove the bolt - 1 -.






- Remove the clip - 2 - using the pry lever - rmv outside mirror (80 - 200).

- Pull the oil dipstick tube out of the cylinder block and move it to the side.

- Place the drip tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208) under the separating point.

- Place the used oil collecting and extracting device (V.A.G 1782) under the engine.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - from the engine oil cooler - 1 -.






- Remove the engine oil cooler - 1 - from the oil filter bracket - 2 -.

Installing

Install in reverse order but note following. When doing this note the following:

Replace gaskets, seals and O-rings.

The hose connections as well as the air guide pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.

Secure hose connections with standard production clamps. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Install the oil dipstick guide tube. Refer to => [ Oil Pan, Pump and Balance Shaft Module Overview ] Oil Pan, Pump and Balance Shaft Module Overview.

- Fill or change the coolant if the oil cooler was replaced. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Procedures.
