Engine Accessory Bracket: Service and Repair






Accessory Bracket

Removing

- Remove the charge air cooler. Refer to => [ Charge Air Cooler ] Charge Air Cooler.

- Remove the high pressure pump. Refer to => [ High Pressure Pump ] High Pressure Pump.

- Remove the generator.

The Air Conditioning (A/C) refrigerant circuit must not be opened.

- Unbolt the A/C compressor from the accessory bracket and secure it to the lock carrier.

- Remove the following: idler pulley bolt - 1 - and pulley, idler roller bolt - 2 - and roller and the toothed belt guard bolt - arrow -.






- Remove the front engine mount bracket bolt.

- Remove the bolts - 1 through 6 - and the accessory bracket.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

Observe the equipped alignment sleeve in the accessory bracket and replace if missing.

Replace all the bolts which have been tightened to an additional torque angle.

Accessory Bracket Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





- Install the bolts as follows:

Bolts - 1 and 2 - M10 x 52.

Bolts - 5 and 6 - M10 x 60.

Bolts - 3 and 4 - M10 x 30.

- Tighten the accessory bracket bolts in 2 steps in sequence - 1 through 6 -:

- Install the bolts all the way by hand.

- Tighten the bolts to 40 Nm.

- Tighten the bolts - 3 and 4 - an additional 45° (1/8) turn.

- Tighten the bolts - 1, 2, 5 and 6 - an additional 90° (1/4) turn.

- Install the generator.

- Install the high pressure pump. Refer to => [ High Pressure Pump ] High Pressure Pump.

- Install the front engine mount bracket bolt, see - item 32 - in the => [ Toothed Belt Drive Overview ] Toothed Belt Drive Overview for the tightening specification.

- Install the charge air cooler. Refer to => [ Charge Air Cooler ] Charge Air Cooler.
