Fuel Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair
Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Assembly Tool (T10118)
• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)
• Double Hexagon Socket, 1/2 inch, 27 mm (VAS 5301/7)
Removing
• Fuel rail overview. Refer to => [ Fuel Rail Overview ] Fuel Rail Overview.
- Read the safety precautions before starting. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Fuel Supply.
- Pay attention to the rules of cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Fuel Supply.
The fuel system is under pressure!
• Before opening high pressure components of the fuel injection system, the fuel pressure must be relieved to residual pressure, refer to => [ High Side Fuel Pressure, Releasing ] Service and Repair.
- Remove the charge air pipe from the noise generator, if equipped.
- Remove the bracket - arrow - from the generator (C) with an upward motion.
- Remove the bolts - arrows - for the coolant line from the intake manifold.
- Use the assembly tool (T10118) to unlock the connector from the fuel pressure sensor - 1 -, and then disconnect the connector.
- Use the double hexagon socket, 1/2 inch, 27 mm (VAS 5301/7) to remove the fuel pressure sensor.
- Collect the leaking fuel with a cloth.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:
• Lubricate the fuel pressure sensor sealing point with clean engine oil and install it in the fuel rail.
• Tightening specification, refer to => [ Fuel Rail Overview ] Fuel Rail Overview.
