Rear Bumper Cover







Rear Bumper Cover

Slight changes may have to be made to removal and installation procedures of rear bumper cover, depending upon equipment installed in vehicle.

Removing






Perform the following:

- Remove the side panel tail lamps.

It may be necessary to unbolt and loosen the rear wheel housing liner in order to access upper bolt - 5 - shown in corresponding illustration. If so, refer to => [ Rear Wheel Housing Liner ] Rear Wheel Housing Liner

- Remove the bolts - 5 - inside the wheel housing on the left and right.

- Remove the lower bolts - 3 - and - 4 - from underneath.

- Remove the bolts that attach the right rear underbody trim panel to the bumper cover, if equipped.

A second technician is required for the rest of the removal procedure.

- Remove the rear bumper cover - 1 - out of the guides on the left and right sides of the side panel - arrows b -.

- Open the catches - arrows a - on the left and right brackets - 2 -.

- Remove the rear bumper cover - 1 - - arrows c - from the vehicle. A second technician is needed for this.

- Disconnect the connectors from any electrical components.

Installing






- Disconnect the connectors from any electrical components.

- Guide the rear bumper cover - 1 - parallel into the guide until it locks into the left and right brackets - 2 - - arrows a -.

- Install the rear bumper cover - 1 - into the left and right guides on the side panel until is locks.

- Pay attention to the parallel alignment and the gap dimensions.

- Tighten the bolts - 3 -, - 4 - and - 5 -. Refer to => [ Rear Bumper Cover Assembly Overview ] Rear Bumper Cover Assembly Overview.

- Install the bolts that attach the right rear underbody trim panel to the bumper cover and tighten them to 2.7 Nm, if equipped.

- Install the side panel tail lamps.
