Charge Air System

• The charge air system must be properly sealed.

• The various charge air system hose connections are secured with screw clamps, spring clamps, connector couplings or spring rings. Be sure to follow the assembly guidelines when installing the connections. Refer to => [ Charge Air Cooler Hose, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair.

• Only tighten the screw clamps by hand. It is not necessary to use a screwdriver.

• Hose clip pliers (VAS 6362) or (VAS 6340) are recommended for installing spring clamps.


• Follow the safety precautions when working on the charge air system and turbocharger. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Safety Precautions.

• Observe the rules for cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

Always follow these instructions before and during work.
